- Primary chaincase — when your manufacturer recommends using engine oil in the primary, and no dedicated V-Twin Primary Fluid is specified

Choose the Right Viscosity
20W-50 (MCV) — Most Harley-Davidson Applications
The most common V-twin viscosity. Designed for the majority of Harley-Davidson air- and oil-cooled engines, transmissions and primary chaincases.
15W-60 (MSV) — Heat-Heavy & Heavy-Load
A slightly heavier grade suited to air-cooled engines ridden in very hot climates or under heavy loads, where additional film strength at high operating temperatures is desirable.
20W-40 (MVI) — Select V-Twin Applications
For V-twin engines specifying a lighter 20W-40 viscosity.
SAE 60 (MCS) — High-Temperature & Severe-Duty
A straight-grade SAE 60 for select air-cooled V-twin engines that specify SAE 60 or ride in extreme heat and load conditions.
